Fictional Animal - Water Scorpions

Was making a number of posters based on a fictional animal I made up while learning about Scorpion anatomy. Made a few quick concepts as a base for painting.

These aquatic animals are all based on the modern scorpion, and in this fictional scenario, have evolved to live in various aquatic environments. These are based models to be textured and painted over later.

"Cenoviridis" (top view) - Crab-like evolution of a scorpion. The telson has evolved a paddle-like structure for quick escape, and for the females to protect their young. The body has flatted to adopt to their environment.

Cenoviridis (bottom view). Enlarged duplicated pectines have evolved into breathing organs. These are supplimented by the enlarged book-lungs (book gills, in this case).

"Venator" (top view) - Swimming predator-type water scorpion. The Palps have turned into a grasping jaw-like structure that can be grab prey. All other structures have changed to a swimming mode of movement. Enlarged ocelli help it see and locate prey.

Filter feeder water scorpion (top). Haven't really worked out all the details yet, but the bushy arms allow it to filter falling food particles from the water. Lives pretty deep, so the rounded body help it withstand the water pressure.
